Families, get your groove on and come to a totally tubular Through the Decades Party! On Wednesday, July 23, from 1 to 3 p.m., you can try games, toys, and food from decades past. Costumes are encouraged: be a cool cat, or be fly or on fleek. 😉 Photo props will be available.

The July Teen Program will be held one week later than usual due to the Watercade book sale. Join Margaret on Saturday, July 19, from 1:30 to 3:30, to paint Dungeons & Dragons miniatures! If the weather cooperates, this program will be held on the lawn on the south side of the library – dress and sunscreen to be outside. If the weather does not, the program will be held in the meeting room.

For ages 11-18. No need to sign up. Free to attend. Snacks will be served.

The Meeker County Dairy Princesses and Ambassadors will be special guests at the July 18th storyhour! Join us at 10 a.m. If the weather cooperates, the program will be held outside on the lawn on the south side of the library – bring chairs or blankets to sit on. If it doesn’t, the program will be held in the storytime area inside the library – no need to bring seating.

The dairy princesses and ambassadors often bring dairy treats to share. Free to attend. No need to sign up.

Sign up for July’s Adult Arts & Crafts program and work with mica resin on wood! The program will be held on Thursday, July 24, at 6:30 p.m. Free to attend, but registration is required. Stop at the front desk or call the library at 320-693-2483 to sign up. All supplies are provided.

Teens (ages 11 and up) are invited to create a diamond dot dragon key chain! This class is free, and will be held in the library’s meeting room on Thursday, July 17th at 10:30 am. Class size is limited so sign up at the library or by calling (320)693-2483.

Congratulations to the winners of the Litchfield Library Foundation’s second annual bookmark contest!

There were 195 entries from local 5th through 12th graders. The foundation board voted to narrow to the semifinalists and finalists, then the public voted on the 10 finalists to choose the 3 winners. The top 3 win cash prizes, and the 1st place design will go on this year’s library bookmark, which will be handed out at the Watercade parade and the library.

The winners’, finalists’, and semifinalists’ bookmarks are on display in the cabinet next to the front desk of the library. Stop by to take a look!

Level Up at Your Library, this year’s summer reading program, has started at Litchfield Library! Kids can pick out a free book to keep when they sign up, thanks to help from the Friends of the Litchfield Library. When kids complete reading sheets, they get library loot that they can use to “buy” prizes!
